Sunlight Readable Glass Surface Touch Screen and Impact Resistant Polarized Touch Screen

ALP offers a wide range of standard selection 4-Wire, 5-Wire, and 8-Wire resistive touch panels. Each of the selection may be converted to a polarized touch panel ( sunlight readable touch panel ). Our regular polarized touch sensor is finished with a AR coated film on the touch surface. Our in house AR coated polarizer is offered as an up-grade selection from the commercial AR film or commercail AR polarizer. Our own AR polarizer not only has a lower surface reflection (< 0.5%) but also has a much denser and harder coating than the regular commercial grade AR film. In a UV exposure test, it was shown that ALP's AR coating on polarizer survived the intense UV light exposure and the commercial AR coating did not, as shown in the picture. The AR coating on the chemically strengthened 0.3 mm glass sheets is even more durable, which is mainly utilized in making of the highly rugged sunlight readable touch panel series of product, gTouch, which is a glass-film-glass touch sensor ( rugged touch panel ) and is extremely impact resistant.

gTouch: The Truly Rugged Sunlight Readable Touch Screen

Though our AR polarizer makes a much harder surface of a film-to-glass resistive touch panel, a plastic AR surface of film-on-glass (FG) resistive touch panel is just not enough to meet the demanding environments in the military fields. Glass-to-glass products would be much more durable and can be used in more demanding surroundings than film-to-glass products. ALP has developed a process, DryBond, which allows us to laminate a 0.2 or 0.3 mm thin glass on the top of the film of a regular FG touch panel to make a glass-film-glass touch panel (GFG), which would have the surface durability much enhanced. The surface glass is usually treated with multi-layer anti-reflection coating (in-house) to enhance the optical performances of the LCD in high ambient lighting condition.

Option to chemically strengthen the 0.3 mm glass is available, which will make the surface glass of GFG touch panel more impact resistant. The resulting touch panel is resistant to dust, flame, water, scratches, and chemicals and suitable for applications in highly demanding environments. Our gTouch integrated display head assembly is proven to survive 2 oz steel ball drop test at 100 cm height. ALP also developed a new technology to further strengthen the touch ITO bottom glass. The resulting touch panel is certainly one of the strongest resistive touch panels you will find on the current market.
